The main purpose of EU Rohs legislation is to restrict the activity of certain dangerous products in electrical and electronic devices in order to protect human health and the environment. The regulation takes place in all vehicles applied up to 1000 VAC and 1500 VDC and covers 10 categories including electric light bulbs, medical devices, home handsets, control and observation tools.

Since February 2003, the Rohs regulation has restricted the activity of hazardous substances in all electrical and electronic vehicles containing medical devices, control and monitoring devices. The regulation requires the replacement of heavy metals by safe means in the same process.
